As you know Peniche is popular mainly among surfers because of many beautiful beaches with perfect conditions for surfing. But you cannot forget about one thing - about the Berlengas archipelago which is located around 10km from Peniche. It is worth to go there for one day trip.
To Berlengas you can get by boat. On the internet and at the port of Peniche you can find many companies which offer cruises to the island from May to October. It should be noted that prices can be different depending on the month. For example, in August we will pay around 25euros per person for two ways trip. To be sure about the place on the boat, it’s worth booking your tickets before. Because only 350 visitors can be n the island at the same time.
Many people can ask you why you should go there? First of all, it is a perfect place for people who like to spend time actively because you can organize by yourself short trekking over there. The island has several routes leading to viewpoints or to fort of St. John Baptist. Secondly, it is a perfect place for people who love nature because on the island there is natural reserve with many species of birds and vegetation. Thirdly, it is an ideal place for diving and snorkeling because the water here is crystal clear. Caves, beautiful rock formations- is a paradise for beginners and more advanced divers.
